Christian Affection Grows Out of Striving to Love One Another

In this video from The South African Theological Seminary, Dr. Johannes Malherbe discusses “affection” in Romans 12:9-10 and illustrates the importance of it among Christians and in the world with a series of quotes from C.S. Lewis’ book, The Four Loves. ┬áThis is well worth the 3:55 seconds it takes to watch the video, but it will take much longer to ponder the implications of what is said.

Christians who are easily irritated by others, who do not enjoy interaction with lost people, neighbors, etc., need to understand one of the reasons people, even difficult people, can be enjoyed. And they need to understand the hard work it often takes to get to the place where one has genuine affection for another person. Give this a listen.
